Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Product Owner to lead the technical management of an embedded software product platform within a dynamic and cross-functional engineering organization.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction, prioritization, quality, and long-term evolution of an embedded software product. You will work closely with software architects, system engineers, development teams, and stakeholders to define product roadmaps, prioritize software implementation, and ensure delivery of high-quality embedded software solutions.

As a recognized technical expert, you will play a key role in shaping software strategy, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring alignment between product development and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Embedded Software Product Ownership

  • Lead the technical management and governance of an embedded software product throughout its lifecycle.
  • Own and prioritize the embedded software backlog, balancing functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Define software implementation priorities based on business value, technical dependencies, and product strategy.
  • Ensure high software quality, reliability, and maintainability across the product platform.

Technical Strategy & Roadmap

  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps aligned with business goals and future product strategy.
  • Drive product evolution by defining software architecture direction and technical improvements.
  • Contribute to long-term planning for embedded software platforms and product branches.
  • Support software governance, release planning, and branch management.

Product Planning & Coordination

  • Coordinate software implementation activities across multiple engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, System Engineers, and Scrum Teams to align priorities.
  • Participate in product planning, sprint planning, and release planning activities.
  • Ensure alignment between software development activities and overall product objectives.

Technical Leadership

  • Act as the technical authority for the embedded software product.
  • Mentor, coach, and support software engineers and technical leads.
  • Drive technical discussions, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
  • Provide guidance on complex technical issues and architectural decisions.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Safeguard software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Promote continuous improvement in development processes, product quality, and engineering practices.
  • Support verification, validation, and release readiness activities.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational software development standards and processes.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
    • Computer Science
    • Embedded Systems
    • Electronics Engineering
    • Software Engineering
    • Mechatronics
    • Or a related technical discipline
Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in embedded software development or embedded software product management.
  • Proven experience leading embedded software products or software platforms.
  • Strong background in software architecture, embedded systems, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience defining software roadmaps and prioritizing technical initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working throughout the complete software development lifecycle.
  • Experience leading cross-functional Agile development teams.
