Embedded Software Engineer

📍 Colorado

💰 Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 Base + Bonus + Equity


I'm currently partnering with a leading company in the space industry that is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join its growing engineering team.


This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with 2+ years of experience to work on advanced aerospace, robotics, and autonomous systems that are helping shape the future of space exploration.


You'll contribute to the development of highly reliable embedded software for mission-critical platforms while working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for real-time and embedded systems
  • Develop software for robotic and autonomous platforms
  • Implement software on embedded Linux and RTOS-based environments
  • Support system integration, testing, and validation activities
  • Develop command, telemetry, and control software functionality
  • Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues
  • Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams
  • Contribute to software architecture, documentation, and engineering best practices


Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of professional embedded software development experience
  • Strong programming skills in C and/or C++
  • Experience working with embedded Linux, RTOS, or similar embedded environments
  • Understanding of real-time systems concepts and embedded architectures
  • Experience integrating software onto hardware platforms
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills


Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace, space, robotics, autonomous systems, or defense industry experience
  • Experience with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, RTEMS, or similar
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, or Ethernet
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and simulation environments
  • Knowledge of software verification and validation processes
  • Experience working on safety-critical or high-reliability systems


Compensation & Benefits

💰 Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000
