The center focuses on new product development, ISO-compliant manufacturing, testing, and certification of medical devices across multiple MedTech verticals. mPragati supports innovators through the full product lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to prototyping, testing, and regulatory compliance. The team also offers training and skill development programs to strengthen capabilities in the MedTech sector. Role Description
The Embedded Hardware Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing hardware for embedded medical devices and related systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include circuit design and analysis, schematic capture, PCB design and review, hardware validation, and debugging of electronic systems. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including firmware engineers, product designers, and quality and regulatory specialists to ensure devices meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements. The engineer will also contribute to documentation, design reviews, and continuous improvement of hardware development processes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in South Delhi at IIT Delhi’s mPragati facility.
Qualifications

Strong skills in Hardware Development and Electronics Hardware Design, with experience in embedded systems for medical or industrial applications.

Proficiency in Circuit Design and analysis, including analog and digital circuits, and familiarity with relevant CAD/EDA tools.

Hands-on expertise with Computer Hardware and general Hardware integration, including interfacing sensors, actuators, and communication modules.

Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals, PCB layout considerations, EMC/EMI, and hardware testing methodologies.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a closely related field.

Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., medical devices, ISO standards) is an advantage.

Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly, and document designs and test results thoroughly.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to work on-site in a laboratory and prototyping environment.
