Job Description

Company Description Linear AmpTech (Linearized Amplifier Technologies and Services Private Limited) is an IIT Roorkee-incubated deep-tech startup working at the cutting edge of the RF and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) domain. The company focuses on the indigenous development of RF front-end, sensing hardware, embedded intelligence and real-time decision systems. Its core mission is to convert in-house R&D into robust, market-ready products. Linear AmpTech aims to serve both national and international markets with advanced RF technologies. Team members work in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment with strong ties to academic research.

Role Description: In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical hardware and embedded intelligence. You will design, develop, test, and troubleshoot electronic hardware and PCB systems for smart infrastructure, defence applications, and RF communication nodes. You will work closely with our R&D team to deploy connected, intelligent hardware into real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities

As an Embedded Hardware Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Circuit & PCB Design : Design and develop electronic circuits and multi-layer PCBs tailored for multi-sensor integration, wireless communication modules, and power management.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct rigorous hardware-level testing, debugging, and signal integrity validation of intelligent edge devices, sensor arrays, and communication nodes.
  • Embedded Integration Support: Collaborate on integrating hardware with low-power wireless communication stacks (e.g., LoRa, ESP32, LTE-M) and COTS hardware/SDR platforms.
  • Prototype to Production: Support end-to-end prototype development, validate physical enclosures, and assist in field trials/pilot deployments (such as smart infrastructure or defence testbeds).
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work alongside our specialised RF engineering, software, and QA teams to refine designs for repeatable manufacturing and improved ruggedness.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare clear schematics, Bill of Materials (BOM), testing logs, and technical compliance reports for institutional and defense clients.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: BE / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication (EC), Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design, embedded hardware development, or system-level testing.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid foundational knowledge of PCB design, component selection, and circuit testing.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, basic interfacing peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART), and integrating wireless modules (LoRa/Wi-Fi/Cellular) is a strong plus.
  • Strong experience in Embedded C/C++ required, familiarity with Python and Machine Learning preferred.
  • Experience using standard bench equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators).

Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for working in a fastpaced

deep-tech startup environment.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to work directly within an elite IIT Roorkee ecosystem alongside leading academic and industry innovators.
  • Hands-on exposure to defence-grade technology, radar systems, and advanced acoustic arrays.
  • A highly collaborative, research-driven, and growth-oriented work environment.
