A specialist engineering role for an Optoelectronics Engineer with hands-on experience in high-speed optical modules, semiconductor optical devices, silicon photonics, and optical-electronic integration.
You’ll take technical ownership of advanced co-packaged optics product development, helping shape new electro-optical solutions for high-performance connectivity applications used across data center and telecom infrastructure. This is suited to an engineer who wants responsibility across technology selection, architecture, development, integration, and productization.

The Optoelectronics Engineer / Optical Engineer / Photonics Engineer Role:
-
Lead the technical development of co-packaged optics and optical module products from concept through to productization

Assess optical engine technologies, suppliers, and sourcing partners for highly integrated optoelectronic components

Work with high-speed optical devices including lasers, detectors, modulators, and integrated optical components
-
Collaborate with digital and analog circuit designers, signal and power integrity specialists, substrate layout engineers, and system design teams

Use optical and electrical modelling and simulation tools to design electro-optical devices and data paths

Support the development of high-speed linear integrated optical components
-
Analyse technical data, build models, and present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Optoelectronics Engineer / Optical Engineer / Photonics Engineer Requirements:

Degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline

3+ years’ hands-on experience developing high-speed optical modules

Experience with semiconductor optical devices such as high-speed photodetectors, high-speed modulators, or integrated waveguide devices

Strong understanding of silicon photonics, semiconductor physics, optical component design, fabrication, and test

Experience using optical simulation tools, design automation software, EDA flows, or related design methodologies

Knowledge of higher order PAM transmission formats

Understanding of 2.5D or 3D optical-electronic integration techniques

Ability to work with large data sets, statistical analysis tools, and cross-functional engineering teams
