Electronics Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer with strong expertise in Embedded Systems Development, PCB Design, Embedded Software Engineering, and Medical Device Product Development.

This role will support enhancements to an existing medical device platform, including both hardware and software updates. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microchip PIC Microcontrollers, Altium Designer, MPLAB Development Environment, and Medical Device Documentation & Change Control Processes.

The position offers an opportunity to work on a mature product while supporting critical engineering updates, compliance requirements, and product improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Embedded Systems & Software Development

• Upgrade existing firmware from MPLAB IDE v8.87 to the latest MPLAB X IDE and XC8 Compiler

• Modify embedded software to support updated audible alarm pulsation patterns

• Debug, test, and validate firmware functionality

• Maintain software documentation and revision control records

Hardware Design & PCB Engineering

• Perform PCB Design Modifications using Altium Designer

• Replace existing Piezoelectric Buzzer with a Magnetic Buzzer and supporting driver circuitry

• Implement PCB updates for LED color modifications

• Support hardware validation, testing, and troubleshooting activities

Documentation & Compliance

• Create and maintain Software Change Control Documentation

• Support Hardware Change Control Processes

• Ensure engineering documentation complies with Medical Device Standards

• Participate in design reviews and engineering documentation updates

System Testing & Validation

• Perform functional testing of hardware and firmware updates

• Support engineering verification and validation activities

• Identify and resolve hardware/software integration issues

• Ensure product reliability and compliance requirements are met

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Microchip PIC Microcontrollers

• Strong Embedded Systems Development experience

• Expertise in Embedded C Programming

• Experience with MPLAB IDE, MPLAB X IDE, and XC8 Compiler

• Hands-on experience with PIC18LF46K22 Microcontroller or similar devices

• Strong experience in PCB Design and PCB Modification

• Proficiency using Altium Designer

• Experience with Hardware Design, Circuit Debugging, and System Integration

• Knowledge of Medical Device Standards and regulated product environments

• Experience with Software Documentation, Hardware Documentation, and Engineering Change Control

• Strong troubleshooting, testing, and problem-solving skills
