Job Description

Advent Atum is an Australian-Ukrainian defence technology company developing fire control and counter-drone systems. We design, build and field hardware in demanding operational environments.
The Role
Design, integrate and qualify electronics for our fire control and weapon system products. You'll work across the full hardware lifecycle — concept, design, prototype, test, qualification, and field commissioning.
Responsibilities
Design embedded electronics, control boxes, and firing modules
Integrate sensors (EO/IR, inertial, GNSS) and weapon system interfaces
Design cable harnesses and interconnects (CAN, Ethernet, serial, 24/28 VDC, MIL-spec connectors)
Take hardware through EMC and environmental qualification (MIL-STD-810, IP-rated)
Support bench integration, field commissioning, and in-service sustainment
Work with platform partners and suppliers on system integration
Requirements
Degree in electronics, electrical, or mechatronics engineering
3+ years designing and qualifying embedded electronics
Strong fundamentals in embedded buses, power systems, and signal integrity
Hands-on with schematic capture, PCB review, and harness design
Experience with EMC and environmental testing
Australian permanent residency or citizenship; eligible for security clearance
Nice to have
Defence, aerospace, or autonomous systems background
Sensor integration experience (vision, inertial, GNSS)
Embedded Linux platforms (NVIDIA Jetson or similar)
PLC programming
Willingness to travel internationally
