Job Description

Join a Growing Deep-Tech Startup at Haifa | Electronics Engineer – Control Board & UAV Integration

We are a young and ambitious defense deep-tech startup, operating in a cutting-edge R&D environment near the Technion. We are expanding our core team to own the electronics layer of our Micro-Turbine power system - from board design to flight.

We're looking for a hands-on Electronics Engineer who wants to take real ownership of a critical system, work across hardware and integration, and be part of a journey where success is shared.

⚡ Role Description

You will own the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) of our microturbine system - designing the board, bringing it up, and integrating it onto drone platforms in the field.

🔲 Control Board Design: Schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and board bring-up for the turbine ECU and power management circuits.

🔲 Power Electronics: Work with ESCs, motor controllers, and power distribution - understand and optimize the full power chain from turbine to drone.

🔲 UAV Integration: Physically integrate the power system onto drone platforms - connect, configure, and validate communication between the ECU and flight controller.

🔲 Testing in the Field: Run bench and field tests with real turbine and drone systems - characterize performance, identify issues, and iterate fast.

🔲 Ownership: Take a system from prototype to a reliable, airborne power unit - with full accountability and minimal hand-holding.

🎯 Basic Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.

At least 3 years of experience in electronics hardware - board design, power electronics, or system integration.

PCB Design: Hands-on experience with schematic and layout tools (Altium, KiCad, or similar).

Power Electronics: Familiarity with ESCs, motor drivers, or power management circuits.

Systems Thinking: Ability to connect the dots between electronics, mechanics, and software at the system level.

UAV / Drone Experience: A significant advantage - flight controllers, power systems, or field integration.

Startup DNA: Curious, independent, hands-on, and comfortable with unsolved problems.

Good Technical English (written and spoken).
