Job Description

Electronics Engineer

Norway/ Nordics

The work spans analogue, digital, and RF: power systems, sensor front-ends, compute interfaces, and the electromagnetic discipline to make it all function reliably in demanding environments.

What you'll own

  • Design, prototype, and bring to production the electronics for sensor and compute nodes — power systems, carrier boards, sensor interfaces
  • Develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers, sensor front-ends, and communication interfaces
  • Integrate and characterise multi-sensor payloads: radar, cameras, RF receivers, positioning systems
  • Own schematic capture, PCB layout, and board fabrication through external manufacturing partners
  • Define hardware abstraction layers and driver interfaces in close collaboration with the software engineer
  • Contribute to reverse engineering and analysis of existing sensor systems to inform product direction

What the first six months look like

By 30 days, you've reviewed the current hardware design and are already calling shots on the first board spins. By 90 days, prototypes are on the bench, firmware is running, and sensors are talking to the software stack. By six months, production-intent hardware is being tested in the field — robust, manufacturable, and something future engineers will want to inherit.

You'll be a strong fit if you

  • Hold an MSc (or equivalent) in cybernetics, electronics, electrical engineering, robotics, or mechatronics — and have the hands-on ability to back it up
  • Are fluent across analogue and digital design, schematic capture, and PCB layout
  • Write embedded firmware and have worked with at least one RTOS
  • Use lab equipment to find truth, not confirm assumptions
  • Have a builder mentality — you want hardware in the field, not in simulation
  • Take end-to-end ownership and help write the specs, not wait for them
  • Are motivated by strengthening allied defence capability with modern, accessible technology

Particularly interesting if you have

  • Background in defence or aerospace
  • Experience with radar systems, RF electronics, or electronic warfare
  • Familiarity with high-speed digital interfaces and compute platforms (Jetson, FPGAs, or similar)
  • Taken a product from prototype through certification to production
  • Knowledge of relevant defence standards
