Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in PCB design, sensor integration, and low-voltage electrical systems to join a small, high-impact engineering team. This is a rare opportunity to become the first dedicated Electrical Engineer at the company and play a foundational role in shaping the electrical architecture of next-generation robotic platforms.

Why Join?

  • Own the electrical architecture from day one as the company's first dedicated Electrical Engineer.
  • Work on challenging real-world robotics problems rather than incremental consumer products.
  • See your designs move rapidly from concept to prototype to deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and robotics engineers in a highly hands-on environment.
  • Join a venture-backed startup with strong investor support and significant growth potential.
  • Receive meaningful equity and the opportunity to help define the future direction of the company's hardware platform.

What You'll Do

  • Design custom PCBs for robotic systems and hardware controllers.
  • Integrate cameras, sensors, LiDAR, and other electronic subsystems into a unified architecture.
  • Prototype, test, validate, and debug board-level hardware.
  • Collaborate with firmware and robotics teams to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Define and scale the electrical systems that power next-generation industrial robotics applications.

Required Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience designing PCBs and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Proven experience designing and shipping custom PCBs for commercial products.
  • Hands-on experience integrating sensors, cameras, LiDAR, or vision systems.
  • Experience working in startup, robotics, autonomous vehicle, embedded systems, or hardware-focused environments.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with PCB design tools such as KiCad, Altium, or similar.
  • Strong board-level debugging and validation experience.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, or similar interfaces.
  • Understanding of signal integrity and hardware troubleshooting.

Work Environment

  • Ability to work on-site in San Francisco five days per week.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with rapid iteration cycles.
  • Builder mentality with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $140,000 – $180,000
  • Competitive Equity Package
  • Opportunity to work directly with founders and engineering leadership
  • Significant ownership and career growth potential

If you're excited about building cutting-edge robotics hardware and want to have a direct impact on the future of industrial automation, we'd love to hear from you.
