Job Description

Electrical Engineer (PCB / Consumer Electronics)

Location: The Library, London (5 days in-office)

About QOVES

QOVES is a technology company pioneering facial aesthetics, helping consumers make smarter beauty decisions. Every day, people make important decisions about their appearance based on guesswork or generic advice. We help them decide with clarity instead. Our platform gives customers a clear, science-backed understanding of their face, paired with bespoke advice on how they can look better. Our work reaches millions: more than 2.5 million people follow QOVES across platforms and most importantly, our customers are delighted, with 4.8 stars across 600+ reviews; we believe this reflects the care and sensitivity with which we approach everyone who comes to us for guidance. We’re a profitable, growing company headquartered at The Library in London, with a team across the globe. What guides us is simple: people deserve more than one-size-fits-all advice when it comes to their appearance. Every decision we make (from the science behind our models to the way we communicate results) is grounded in evidence, responsibility, and a broad, inclusive understanding of beauty.

About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to own the full electronics scope of the QOVES physical product range. You must have hands-on PCB design experience with consumer or regulated hardware; this is the non-negotiable requirement for this role. Based at The Library in London, you will take products from schematic through to production-ready design, covering component selection, BOM management, validation, and certification. A background in biomedical electronics or consumer hardware in the cosmetics and aesthetics space is strongly preferred.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on PCB design experience for consumer or regulated electronics products.
  • Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, power management, and signal integrity.
  • Proven experience taking a hardware product from prototype through to certified, volume manufacture.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded firmware integration, and hardware-firmware co-design.
  • Working knowledge of electronics safety and EMC certification processes for consumer products (CE, UKCA, RoHS, FCC, and equivalents).
  • Highly organized with rigorous attention to detail across documentation and version control.
  • Able to work independently and make sound technical decisions with limited supervision.
  • Clear communicator who can work effectively with mechanical engineers, firmware developers, and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with consumer electronic hardware in the cosmetics, aesthetics, or beauty space, such as at-home beauty devices for skin improvement.
  • Experience with low-power Bluetooth or wireless connectivity in consumer devices.
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 or equivalent electrical safety standards.
  • Experience managing electronics contract manufacturers, particularly in Asia-Pacific.
  • Exposure to DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews and electronics assembly optimization.

Why Join

  • Foundational role in defining the electronics architecture of an entirely new QOVES product vertical.
  • Direct collaboration with the Industrial Engineer, product, and creative teams.
  • High ownership over hardware direction and engineering decisions.
  • Fast-paced environment where products move from concept to production without unnecessary process overhead.

Compensation and Logistics

  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
  • Full-time, onsite at The Library in London, 5 days a week.
  • Reporting to: CTO
