About The Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team within a growing, startup‑style business embedded in an established medical device development organization. This role focuses on the design, development, and integration of embedded electrical systems supporting real‑time control platforms used in regulated medical device products.

This is a hands‑on individual contributor role well suited for an engineer who is ready to expand technical depth, contribute to complex system designs, and work closely with senior engineers across the full product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded electrical hardware for MCU‑based real‑time control systems
  • Create mixed‑signal PCB and PCBA designs (analog, digital, power) using Altium and/or OrCAD
  • Support hardware–software integration activities in collaboration with embedded software engineers
  • Contribute to electrical requirements definition, ensuring alignment with system‑ and software‑level requirements
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, design descriptions, and performance specifications
  • Build, test, and evaluate breadboards, prototypes, and early‑stage hardware designs
  • Design and validate cable assemblies and wire harnesses for electromechanical systems
  • Assist with verification and validation (V&V) testing to ensure designs meet performance and regulatory expectations
  • Apply Design‑for‑Manufacturing (DFM) and Design‑for‑Test (DFT) principles under guidance from senior engineers
  • Support component selection and evaluation based on performance, reliability, and supplier specifications
  • Support EVT / DVT / PVT phases, by participate in design reviews, troubleshooting efforts, and root cause investigations
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management teams
  • Assist with customer application troubleshooting and technical support as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, embedded hardware design, or product development
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and embedded system design practices
  • Experience with mixed‑signal PCB design for embedded or electromechanical systems
  • Familiarity with systems incorporating motors, sensors, actuators, or control electronics
  • Ability to clearly document designs and communicate technical concepts within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to embedded firmware development and MCU‑based systems
  • Familiarity with real‑time systems, RTOS, or bare‑metal environments
  • Understanding of FPGA design (VHDL/Verilog)
  • Experience in medical devices or other regulated industries
  • Awareness of IEC 60601, ISO 13485, or FDA Design Controls
  • Experience assisting with test equipment or validation fixture development
  • Cable and harness design experience

Why Join Us

  • Grow your technical skills within a supportive, cross‑disciplinary engineering team
