Job Description

About KRC

Kurtin Robotics Company (KRC) is a robotic systems integrator based in Houston, Texas. We design and build automation systems that help manufacturers grow CNC machine tending, injection molding automation, robotic welding, end-of-line palletizing, packaging, and custom machine builds. We've completed 45+ robot projects, saved our customers $10M+ in labor costs, and maintained a 100% 5-star customer rating since our founding in 2019.

We are a small, tight-knit team. Everyone here owns their work from concept through commissioning. If you want to see the systems you design running live on a factory floor - this is that job.

Associate Robotics Electrical Engineer

We're looking for an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on real automation projects from day one - designing electrical systems, building panels, commissioning safety systems, and supporting integration on customer sites across Texas and beyond.

This is a hands-on role. You will travel to customer facilities, work in live production environments, and be a direct part of making systems work. If you're the kind of engineer who wants to be in the field and see your work in action, you'll fit in well here.

What You'll Do

  • Design and wire electrical control panels for robotic automation systems
  • Create schematics and electrical drawings for new projects
  • Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical components
  • Design safety systems including light curtains, area scanners, and E-stop circuits in accordance with NFPA 79 and ANSI/RIA R15.06
  • Support PLC and robot controller programming and integration
  • Commission and troubleshoot systems during installation at customer sites
  • Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers throughout the full project lifecycle - from design through site acceptance test (SAT)
  • Travel to customer facilities for installation, commissioning, and support

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with strong electrical emphasis
  • 0–2 years of experience in industrial electrical design, automation, or a related field
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and panel design fundamentals
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, field environment
  • Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites (primarily Texas, with occasional out-of-state travel)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing work right the first time

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to industrial automation, robotics, or systems integration
  • Familiarity with FANUC or Universal Robots platforms
  • Experience with safety system design (light curtains, area scanners, safety relays)
  • Knowledge of NFPA 79, OSHA 1910.147 (Lockout/Tagout), or ANSI/RIA R15.06
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN

What It's Like to Work at KRC

  • Small team. Real ownership. You won't be siloed — you'll see the full project.
  • We build systems that actually work. Our standard is simple designs, reliable execution, and customers who are genuinely satisfied.
  • You'll be trained on our design philosophy, preferred component ecosystem, and programming library so you can contribute quickly and confidently.
  • We take care of our team the same way we take care of our customers.

Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Location: Houston, TX (on-site + field travel required)
