Job Description

K9 Electronics Ltd is a leading designer and manufacturer of surveillance, counter-surveillance, and electronic warfare equipment. We specialise in advanced communications jamming systems and cutting-edge RF/EW products that meet the highest industry standards — helping defence, law enforcement, and government clients worldwide achieve security and operational efficiency.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Electronics Engineer role based at our offices in Northampton Science Park. The role is varied and hands-on — no two days are the same. You will be involved in the design, development, and testing of new electronic products from concept through to production. Alongside your engineering work, you will also take customer enquiries, handle inbound calls, and liaise directly with clients — so strong communication skills are just as important as your technical ability.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the design and development of electronic circuits and systems
  • Building, testing, and debugging prototype hardware
  • Supporting troubleshooting and continuous improvement of existing designs
  • Taking and responding to customer enquiries by phone and email
  • Liaising with customers to provide technical support and updates
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for electronics — this matters more than a long CV
  • Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Good analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you will be customer-facing
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, close-knit team
  • A degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is an advantage — but demonstrable practical experience will be equally considered
  • If you are enthusiastic about electronics, eager to learn, and want to work on genuinely interesting and impactful technology, we want to hear from you.
