Job Overview

As a Principal Verification Engineer , you independently solve complex engineering problems, coach colleagues, and drive best practices to improve departmental efficiency. You are expected to think strategically, formulate mid- and long-term goals, mentor team members, optimize workflows, and manage risks.

As the face of the department, you foster communication and build connections for cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and achieve shared goals. You proactively identify high-impact issues, such as product performance improvements and process optimizations. You apply professional methodologies to study and develop test subjects, guide others in presenting results clearly, and pursue patent applications or academic publications to maximize research value.

Main Responsibilities

  • Independently solve complicated engineering problems and leverage experience to guide colleagues in addressing similar issues. Identify and implement more efficient work methods, promote best practices to multiply the department's work capacity and effectiveness, and cultivate colleagues to adopt similar ways of thinking. Rather than functioning solely as individual contributors, Principal Engineers are expected to use their influence to enhance the organization's efficiency and performance.
  • With solid domain knowledge in the designated field, s/he is a leader who thinks strategically and is skilled in formulating mid- and long-term development goals for the organization. S/he will not only mentor and guide team members but also form task forces to continuously optimize workflows, integrate resources for optimal utilization, and develop concrete and effective execution plans. Additionally, s/he is proficient in risk management methods and applications, capable of identifying the root causes of abnormalities, and proposing effective mitigation, resolution, correction, and preventive measures.
  • Serve as the face of the department, fostering communication and connections both internally and externally with the Global Department of Advanced Materials, Simulation and Testing (GMST) to inspire a broader audience and drive innovative ideas or projects โ€”such as knowledge and ability improvement enhancement, and industry-academia collaborationโ€”to achieve departmental goals.
  • Proactively spend time outside the projectโ€™s critical path to look for and identify impactful issues, such as product performance improvement that includes product and equipment failure analysis and improvement suggestions, and process improvement. Be hands-on in researching critical problems, while also demonstrating the ability to delegate tasks appropriately when needed.
  • Study and develop test subjects and techniques using professional methodologies, while appropriately coaching others to present outcomes in clear and logically structured technical documents that promote optimal reader comprehension. Strategically pursue patent applications or academic publications to maximize the value of the research outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree in engineering or a related science field, or minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English. (TOEIC score of 800 or above or equivalent, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or other internationally recognized certifications)
  • Experience in designing fixtures and analyzing mechanical test setups
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical validation testing
  • Ability to automate mechanical tests
  • Understanding of material failure analysis or data analysis
  • Skills in statistical analysis
  • Knowledge or practice of Product Risk Management
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in designing and testing mechanical products
  • Proficiency in using mechanical engineering tools for test method development
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset

We Offer

  • Challenging assignments in a fast-growing and innovative industry.
  • A multicultural team and modern working environment with state-of-the-art facilities and technologies.
  • A place where we take pride in the inclusive and collaborative environment we have built - one where a true sense of belonging fosters meaningful exchange and shared growth.
  • Various opportunities for personal and professional development within a global organization.
  • Flexible hours and hybrid working policy.
