Introduction

We are building a high-performance ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) system capable of detecting and analyzing weak, agile, and low-probability-of-intercept (LPI) signals across wide spectral ranges, including radar and frequency-hopping sources. This effort combines established RF engineering with insights from Atomic and Molecular Optics (AMO) Physics, enabling the redefinition of conventional system parameters and sensing strategies. To realize this vision, we are assembling a cross-functional team that blends system architecture, radar signal processing, hardware design, and compliance engineering, with close integration between engineering and physics expertise.

The following profiles define the core technical team driving this effort.

Core Roles

1. Product Manager – ELINT Systems

Responsibilities:

• Leads the product vision, development roadmap, and stakeholder engagement for the ELINT system.
• Works in coordination with the CTO, who defines the broader technical vision across a multi-product portfolio, to ensure ELINT objectives are aligned and prioritized.
• Brings extensive experience in ELINT systems with a strong understanding of mission-critical use cases.
• Champions innovation by embracing emerging technologies and rethinking system architectures based on new physics.

Cross-Disciplinary Role:

• Works closely with both engineering and physics teams to translate novel capabilities into operational advantages.
• Balances risk and technical feasibility to push the boundaries of current ELINT design paradigms.

2. Systems Engineer – RF Systems Integration

Responsibilities:

• Designs and manages the full system architecture, from RF front-end to digital processing and control subsystems.
• Ensures subsystem interoperability and defines key performance interfaces.

Cross-Disciplinary Role:

• Integrates feedback from the AMO Physics team to evolve conventional RF performance benchmarks.
• Adjusts system models and calibration strategies to incorporate new physical observables.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to airborne and spaceborne payload development and testing will be a plus.

3. Signal Processing Engineer – Detection and Estimation

Responsibilities:

• Develops signal processing algorithms for detection, classification, radar signal processing, and emitter tracking in contested environments.
• Builds adaptive and wideband processing chains to handle complex spectrum dynamics.
• Focuses on advanced techniques for handling low-probability-of-intercept (LPI) and agile radar signals.
• Explores compressive sensing, time-frequency analysis, and robust geolocation techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A deep understanding of the mathematics underlying machine learning (e.g., optimization, information theory, linear algebra, probability) is a strong plus.
• Experience with real-time implementation on FPGA, RFSoC, or GPU-based platforms is highly desirable.
• Exposure to airborne and spaceborne payload development and testing will be a plus.

Cross-Disciplinary Role:

• Collaborates with physics researchers to incorporate new forms of signal observables into detection logic.
• Refines algorithms through iterative testing and validation against experimental datasets.

4. RF Hardware Engineer – Analog and Mixed-Signal Design

Responsibilities:

• Designs the analog front-end including filters, amplifiers, modulators, and digitizers.
• Leads analog circuit and PCB design for high-frequency signal integrity and integration.
• Validates signal fidelity, dynamic range, and power handling across wideband conditions.

Cross-Disciplinary Role:

• Works with researchers to align hardware design with emerging system requirements and unique constraints.
• Ensures modular, upgradeable interfaces for evolving sensor integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to airborne and spaceborne payload development and testing will be a plus.

5. EMI/EMC & Environmental Compliance Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Leads qualification against MIL-STD-461 (EMI/EMC), MIL-STD-810 (environmental), and MIL-STD-704 (power).
• Designs for reliability under thermal, vibrational, and EMI stressors.

Cross-Disciplinary Role:

• Ensures that environmental and EMI considerations reflect the full spectrum of system components, including those informed by AMO physics.
• Leads the effort in systems-level ruggedization and certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to airborne and spaceborne payload development and testing will be a plus.
