About The Role

As a Staff Analog Design Engineer at Analog Devices, you will lead the design and development of complex analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, working with significant latitude to solve challenging technical problems. You'll provide technical leadership on critical projects, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor less experienced engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with broader business understanding to drive innovation and ensure successful product delivery across multiple applications and markets.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analog Design Engineer to join our Silicon Product Development team focused on ASIC development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-speed analog circuit design, with deep expertise in signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis. You will play a key role in architecting, designing, and validating analog and mixed-signal blocks for cutting-edge ASICs used in high-performance computing, networking, or consumer electronics.

Key Responsibilities:

The Analog Design team is responsible for breaking down system-level requirements into design specifications, architecting and designing analog signal and power conversion chains, and subsystems. The key functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Transistor-level circuit design and simulation.
  • Leveraging existing designs to meet new specifications.
  • Design and development of high-speed analog circuits such as PLLs, SerDes, ADCs/DACs, and high-speed I/O interfaces.
  • Experience in the stability of feedback systems and compensation techniques.
  • Perform detailed SI/PI analysis and modeling to ensure robust signal transmission and power delivery across the chip and package.
  • Excellent knowledge of analog and mixed-signal circuit design, tools, and flows.
  • Experience in the stability of feedback systems and compensation techniques.
  • Experience in lower geometry FinFet CMOS circuit design.
  • Knowledge of precision metrics such as mismatch, noise & linearity is a plus.
  • Collaborate with digital design, packaging, and PCB teams to optimize system-level performance.
  • Conduct simulations using tools like HSPICE, Spectre, ADS, and EM simulators (HFSS, Ansys SIwave, etc.).
  • Drive layout best practices to minimize parasitics and ensure design integrity.
  • Participate in silicon bring-up, characterization, and debug of analog blocks in the lab.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, specifications, and verification plans.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and technical strategy.
  • Working with wafer Fab to understand & develop process capabilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with advanced packaging technologies (e.g., 2.5D/3D ICs).
  • Knowledge of industry standards like PCIe, USB, DDR, Ethernet.
  • Strong knowledge of ESD in lower geometry nodes
  • Strong understanding of SI/PI principles, modeling, and simulation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Exposure to MatLab
  • Experience in scripting (Python, TCL) for automation.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Hands-on experience in high-speed analog/mixed-signal design.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in analog circuit design
  • Experience with successful IC tape-outs and first-pass silicon
  • Publication record or patents in analog/mixed-signal design
