Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our BT or WLAN protocol design team. In this role, you will be working in the Core Bluetooth Software team responsible for BT/BLE driver design and development to productize cutting edge and best-in-class Synaptics IoT Bluetooth solutions. This position reports to the Manager, BT SW Engineering.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Development of firmware for Bluetooth controller
- System level debugging to fix controller issues
- Low level hardware bring-up, software development in embedded, RTOS environment and device driver development
- Working with cross functional teams for pre silicon and post silicon bring-up

Working with other team members on testing and maintenance work
- Hands-on experience in BT FW development
- Good understanding of Bluetooth technology up to core spec v5.4
- Strong programming skills in C, embedded C, debugging & troubleshooting of uC
- Experience working with various communication and control protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, I2S
- Good understanding of hardware and some familiarity with Bluetooth sniffer tools, analysis of logs, usage of embedded debuggers
- Excellent debugging and analytical abilities
- Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
- Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
- Resourceful and able to solve problems through practical use of technology and a solid understanding of product architecture
- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant engineering role
- Highly proficient in C programming
- Experience developing for Bluetooth specification (5.4) link layer
- Experience with system test, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of Bluetooth product

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

What we're looking for
At embedd.it, we power hardware-software integration in embedded devices. We turn fragmented semiconductor chip data into configurable digital twins, then deterministically generate code, tests, and documentation – making integration faster, cheaper, and resilient to supply chain shocks.
We’re looking for a true legend – someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. You’ll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. It’s your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
