YOUR MISSION AT VOI
As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer you would join our growing IoT team and drive firmware development for our diverse fleet of electric vehicles, focusing on scalability, compliance, and enhanced rider experience.
Our expanding fleet and complex IoT solutions require a unified firmware strategy. Together with the team you'll tackle challenges like diverse vehicle types, varying market requirements, and ongoing innovation projects (next-gen IoT, computer vision, energy efficiency). We need your expertise to streamline operations and improve our product. This will include:
- Build out our latest Embedded-linux stack
- Tech evaluations: Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their integration into our micro-mobility devices.
- Embedded software development: Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for our micro-mobility devices.
- CI/CD: Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery processes for our embedded software development.
- Collaborate with the team to design and implement new features and functionalities for our micro-mobility devices.
- Troubleshoot and debug any issues that arise during the development and testing of our embedded software.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in IoT and edge computing, and apply them to our micro-mobility devices.
WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK
We’re looking for a Senior Embedded Software professional with experience from working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. In addition to being fluent in English, we believe the right person has:
- Strong C/C++ skills.
- Experience with Embedded Linux development, Yocto and device trees
- Experience with Linux application development
- Bachelor's/Master's in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- The skills to ensure efficient data communication and hardware compatibility.
- Experience with low-power IoT firmware development, Cortex M architecture, Zephyr RTOS or similar.
- Experience with bare metal development
- Experience with communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, CANOpen) and familiarity with Network protocols (UDP, COAP, LwM2M)

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

What we're looking for
At embedd.it, we power hardware-software integration in embedded devices. We turn fragmented semiconductor chip data into configurable digital twins, then deterministically generate code, tests, and documentation – making integration faster, cheaper, and resilient to supply chain shocks.
We’re looking for a true legend – someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. You’ll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. It’s your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
