Join our core obfuscation tooling team!
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to help modernize and expand the in-house tools that power Promon’s code protection technologies. You’ll work at the heart of our obfuscation efforts, developing innovative techniques to prevent reverse engineering and static/dynamic analysis. This is a hands-on role where you’ll build tools used in a CI/CD environment by teams across Promon.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Modernize and maintain our internal code protection and analysis tooling
- Develop new techniques to defend against reverse engineering and analysis
- Deliver robust, well-documented tools in a CI/CD pipeline for internal use

Collaborate with engineers across Promon to integrate and evolve our core technologies
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (BSc, MSc, or PhD)
- Solid experience working on complex software projects involving multiple build systems, target architectures, or programming languages
- Solid understanding of compiler fundamentals: intermediate representations (IR), optimization techniques, and code obfuscation

Proficiency in C, C++, or similar systems programming languages
- Static and dynamic binary analysis
- LLVM or other compiler frameworks
- CI/CD tooling and scripting
- Reverse engineering or malware analysis techniques

Where You'll Work
Our HQ is in Oslo, Norway. But, this role is open to remote workers. For those in Oslo we encourage a physical presence in our office to spend time with our team and business partners. For our remote workers we leverage various digital tools to stay connected, and we also come together for team building activities.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

What we're looking for
At embedd.it, we power hardware-software integration in embedded devices. We turn fragmented semiconductor chip data into configurable digital twins, then deterministically generate code, tests, and documentation – making integration faster, cheaper, and resilient to supply chain shocks.
We’re looking for a true legend – someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. You’ll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. It’s your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
