Heron Power is a startup company building cutting-edge power electronics for the 21st-century grid. We aim to debottleneck the growth of electricity generation and consumption with scalable, innovative, and less costly hardware solutions, accelerating the electrification of everything.

Job Overview
As an embedded software engineer, you will be responsible for developing connected-systems infrastructure & implementing real-time algorithms for power conversion systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining validation and CI/CD pipelines.
How You Will Contribute
- Evaluate embedded compute requirements and microcontroller offerings
- Implement embedded real-time operating system (RTOS) and microcontroller kernel and peripherals such as PWM’s, ADC’s, comparators, and serial communications
- Create communication schemas and associated auto-generated code
- Architect and implement troubleshooting and tracing tools, security features, data historians, and logging pipelines
- Create continuous integration pipeline including build scripts and test automation
- Integrate and maintain unit-test and test-automation frameworks
- Design and maintain over-the-air firmware update, telemetry, and fleet management systems
- Manage version control, firmware integration, and firmware release processes

Must-Have Requirements
- Strong knowledge of embedded C
- Familiarity with bootloaders and real-time operating systems (RTOS)

Experience with build systems and continuous integration & delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Experience with real time dynamic control systems
- Familiarity with simple power conversion topologies
- Experience writing safety-critical firmware
- Electronic circuit design experience
- Front-end software experience – particularly for engineering tools
- Familiarity with FPGA programming and/or ASIC design

Experience in high-volume production and support
Heron Power provides competitive compensation (salary and equity) and benefits. The salary for this role ranges from $95,000 to $200,000 per year.
Senior Embedded Software Engineer

What we're looking for
At embedd.it, we power hardware-software integration in embedded devices. We turn fragmented semiconductor chip data into configurable digital twins, then deterministically generate code, tests, and documentation – making integration faster, cheaper, and resilient to supply chain shocks.
We’re looking for a true legend – someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. You’ll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. It’s your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
