Quantum Engineer

Your primary responsibility will be calibrating, characterising, and benchmarking our internal and commercial quantum computing systems. You will also assist in the deployment and technical support of TreQโ€™s products. You will work closely with TreQโ€™s systems engineers, supply chain partners, and clients to deliver open-architecture systems to global technology pioneersโ€”clients purchasing today to accelerate production-grade, industry-relevant quantum computing.


Responsibilities

  • Perform bring-up and tune-up of TreQโ€™s reference and production-level quantum systems
  • Assist in system builds at TreQโ€™s facility and client sites
  • Operate commercial quantum software and control hardware to maximise system performance and reliability
  • Be the first line of technical support for our clients
  • Contribute to TreQโ€™s internal quantum software libraries, including benchmarking, calibration, and algorithms


You might be a fit ifโ€ฆ


you know about:

  • Calibration, characterisation and benchmarking of superconducting quantum systems (other QPU modalities are also valuable; e.g. ion trap, AMO, spin)
  • RF / microwave measurement & engineering
  • Electrical testing equipment (voltage sources, current meters, oscilloscopes, lock-in amplifiers, VNAs)
  • Assembly and maintenance of scientific equipment

youโ€™ve had experiences like these:

  • Programmingย in Python and C++
  • Working with with commercial quantum software for calibration
  • Orchestrating jobs with compiled frameworks such as CudaQ, XACC
  • Implementing common quantum algorithms using software frameworks such as Qiskit, Circ

Preferred Qualifications

  • Flexibility to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a technical discipline plus direct experience in the quantum industry (OR a masterโ€™s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a related engineering discipline)
