About the Role

We're looking for a bold, hands-on Head of Robotics & Deployment to lead the charge in scaling our robotic Micro-factory product.

This is a startup leadership role in the truest sense. You'll wear many hats, build and steer a cross-functional team (currently 6 multidisciplinary engineers), and take full ownership of the systems, people, and processes that bring our one-of-a-kind automation technology to life.

You’ll be the driving force behind getting our micro-factories ready for scale and oversee the delivery - combining strategic oversight with roll-up-your-sleeves execution. From getting the product market-ready to real-world deployment and ongoing customer support, you’ll ensure we deliver trusted, high-performance systems #forpeopleandplanet .

What you'll do

Lead & Inspire

• Build and lead a multidisciplinary team across hardware, automation, and deployment.
• Foster a high-ownership, high-accountability culture with strong collaboration.
• Define success metrics, team rituals, and scaling strategies as we grow.

Get our Micro-Factory Tech Market-Ready

• Lead the development of our new Micro-Factory product from advanced prototype (TRL 6/7) to fully validated, field-tested product (TRL 9).
• Oversee hardware readiness, supply chain, manufacturing documentation, and industrialisation.
• Define & run test cycles, Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), QA, and compliance processes (e.g. ISO).
• Collaborate with partners and suppliers to build a robust, repeatable deployment model.

Deliver and Scale Deployments

• Own the full deployment lifecycle for the first batch of Micro-Factories - from planning to on-site commissioning and performance validation.
• Build scalable tools and playbooks to enable fast, high-quality deployments across sites and geographies.
• Support our current Micro-Factories deployments.
• Create feedback loops to continuously improve deployment efficiency and customer experience.
• Set and uphold performance benchmarks across uptime, precision, and usability.

Design a Lean Support Model

• Build a responsive post-deployment support function to keep systems running smoothly in the real world.
• Implement systems for incident tracking, performance monitoring, and customer feedback.
• Champion uptime, maintainability, and ease of use as key pillars of product value.

Inform Product Vision

• Collaborate with the C-level team and VP Engineering to evolve the Micro-Factory tech stack.
• Feed insights from deployments and support back into hardware and software R&D.
• Collaborate with the software and building systems teams to ensure the Micro-Factory works seamlessly with AUAR’s product architecture #thinkholistically.

Align Across Teams

• Build strong relationships across engineering, product, customer success, and ops.
• Ensure transparency, shared learning, and fast decision-making across functions.

About You

• 5-8+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing, including leadership roles.
• Proven track record of bringing complex hardware/software systems to market - ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of systems integration, control systems, and deployment workflows.
• Strong leadership skills - empathetic, clear, and committed to team growth with experience building and supporting growing teams.
• ‘Roll-up-the-sleeves’ mindset; happy to travel to customer sites and be on the ground during deployment.
• Thrive in ambiguity and know how to create structure and momentum from scratch.
