Job Description
The FPGA Engineer is responsible for developing, porting, validating, and optimizing new algorithms, firmware, and software in the areas of computer vision, ADAS applications, and autonomous driving on specific hardware architectures. This role is part of a talented cross-functional team, supported by algorithm and system engineering teams. Future responsibilities will involve porting/evolving the FPGA video pipeline to the ISP and DSP portions of a System on Chip (SOC).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with camera development team members to understand camera requirements, processor (FPGA) resource constraints, and existing architectural design decisions to develop and simulate portions of the video pipeline RTL.
- Port algorithms developed in Matlab to various embedded platforms including FPGAs and SOCs.
- Adapt algorithms to meet embedded system requirements conforming to their target platform constraints.
- Optimize new and existing embedded algorithms to efficiently utilize the available resources.
- Analyze requirements and specifications as they relate to code development to ensure compliance.
- Perform testing, debugging, and validation of embedded code on the target hardware.

Create, review, and approve comprehensive technical documents.
- Experience with Lattice and Xilinx FPGA.
- Proficiency in C++ and Matlab.
- Strong skills in algorithm implementation and debugging software.
- Excellent software troubleshooting and hardware debug skills.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with FPGAs.

Exposure to ARM-based SoC platforms such as Xilinx.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Proven track record of strong coding and individual technical accomplishment.
The work environment involves collaboration with a cross-functional team, utilizing advanced technologies in a dynamic setting. The role may require adapting algorithms for embedded systems and ensuring efficient use of hardware resources.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

What we're looking for
At embedd.it, we power hardware-software integration in embedded devices. We turn fragmented semiconductor chip data into configurable digital twins, then deterministically generate code, tests, and documentation – making integration faster, cheaper, and resilient to supply chain shocks.
We’re looking for a true legend – someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. You’ll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. It’s your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
