  • Business This accountability area puts an emphasis on results within an individual job/department/function business unit.

  • System Design Specification – work with necessary stakeholders and prepare system requirements specification including hardware and firmware operation or feature set..
  • System Functional and Non-Functional Analysis – carry out a range of analysis and investigations to create the user stories for the product.
  • Evaluate multiple system design concepts and maintain balance between the product and its components to arrive at a harmonized solution that meets the business needs.
  • System firmware Functional and Physical Architecture development: propose new and different methods and processes to achieve product performance.
  • Investigate new technologies and stay current on new product developments in NGP markets
  • Product Verification and Validation – design and develop system integration plan and tests related to firmware features and functionality
  • Lead System Integration and test (EVT & DVT)
  • Assist with safety certification testing and country specific homologation
  • Lead cross-functional technical and design reviews on the products
  • Responsible for product documentation from initial proposals through first production release
  • Assist with production and field failure analysis as required

  • Assist project manager with project schedule development and milestone definition.
  • To manage assigned product development using the identified BAT/NGP processes
  • To identify best external partners to assist and drive device firmware development
  • To effectively manage assigned projects to ensure firmware delivery on time and within budget
  • Lead internal teams and / or development partners to define the expected firmware functionality and performance targets.
  • Liaise with cross category architecture teams to maintain alignment with the specified programs, as well as electrical and physical architecture.
  • Working with our internal teams and / or development partners, create functional designs, demonstrating how the system firmware and software satisfies the defined customer requirements.

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical or software engineering field,
  • 4+ years of experience in product firmware development
  • Previous firmware development experience in a related field
  • Previous experience in firmware Requirements creation and / or product verification testing
  • Previous experience working as a member of a development team
  • Previous experience launching a consumer electronic product into volume production
  • Previous experience developing firmware for battery powered consumer electronics devices
  • Previous experience conducting code reviews, code quality reviews, and IEC code safety reviews.
  • Expertise in BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) in embedded systems including, peripheral, central, dual roles, pairing, GATT profiles, security, custom services.
  • Familiarity with BLE firmware stacks (e.g. those from On Semi, Nordic).
  • Low level understanding of BLE software stacks and experience in optimizing BLE software stack for performance constraints and ultra-low-power consumption constraints iii. Key Success Factors
  • Working knowledge of electrical firmware design methods and tools
  • Working knowledge of mass produced firmware development and debug tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of product development processes
  • Working knowledge of international safety standards for consumer electronics products
  • MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint, excel, and word
  • Fluent in firmware development software tools such as C++ and embedded C
  • Fluent with at least two families of microprocessor development, such as Atmel, ARM Cortex, STM32 or other equivalent family of processors.
