Your Role
As an Embedded Systems Developer, you'll be a key player in the design and optimization of the embedded systems for our robots, which are recognized as the most precise and compact in the world.
Your Main Responsibilities
Embedded Systems Development:
- Design, develop, and test various embedded modules for the robot and develop software for the next generation of robotic products.
- Implement and debug low-level (back-end) code to optimize system performance.
- Design and revise electronic circuits (PCBs).

Collaborate with R&D teams (mechanical, electronic) to integrate software.
- Ensure functional safety by adhering to industry standards (ISO 10218, IEC 61508, etc.).
- Create test and validation tools to verify the proper functioning of electronics and software.
- Participate in improving the internal control architecture of the robots.

Write necessary technical documentation for knowledge sharing.
You hold a higher degree in electrical engineering and have confirmed experience (+ 5 years) in a similar role, ideally in an industrial or technological context.
You are bilingual in French and English to write technical documentation and communicate with teams in both languages.
Your Technical Skills:
- Experience with various ISO and IEC standards.
- Excellent knowledge of C and assembly (ASM) languages.
- Good general knowledge of Linux systems.
- Knowledge of ARM architectures.
- Knowledge of IoT and connected devices (an asset).
- Network knowledge (an asset).

HDL knowledge on FPGA/Xilinx (an asset).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Rigor and attention to detail to ensure code quality and adherence to technical standards.

Proactivity and an analytical mindset in resolving issues.
👉 Full-time position (40h/week) to be filled as soon as possible at our site located at 1300, rue St-Patrick, Montreal, QC.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

What we're looking for
At embedd.it, we power hardware-software integration in embedded devices. We turn fragmented semiconductor chip data into configurable digital twins, then deterministically generate code, tests, and documentation – making integration faster, cheaper, and resilient to supply chain shocks.
We’re looking for a true legend – someone with abstract thinking and deep expertise in low-level software development. You’ll build vendor-agnostic tooling for MCU and peripheral integration to solve hardware-software integration once and for all. We work at the intersection of embedded systems, code generation, compilers, and machine learning. It’s your chance to help redefine how low-level development is done.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture of the driver structures and system layout
- Define scalable patterns for cross-architectural integration across bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and other environments
- Deconstruct complex SoC device trees and translate hardware descriptions into structured internal models for automated reasoning
- Partner with the ML team to shape data and annotation models for AI-driven data-extraction tooling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Familiarity with firmware configuration, SoC bring-up, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with code generation tools, or low-level compiler/decompiler/emulator technologies
- Strong background in embedded toolchains: compilers, linkers, debuggers, and build systems
- Python or scripting for automation and tooling is a plus
- Experience with functional-safety standards is a plus
