Job Description

As an Embedded Software & Firmware Engineer, you will assist in developing firmware components by contributing to coding, debugging, and documentation efforts. You will support the team in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating tests, and using tools like Git and Docker for version control and containerization.

In your new role you will:

• Learn and contribute to embedded software development tasks, including implementing small firmware modules under supervision
• Participate in requirements engineering and traceability activities with guidance
• Assist in preparing basic design and testing documentation
• Support CI/CD pipeline setup and test automation activities as a learner and contributor
• Contribute to GitLab pipeline maintenance for small tasks while learning version control best practices
• Gain exposure to and assist with code quality tools like Coverity and PCLint
• Provide basic support for hardware configuration and infrastructure setup tasks
• Shadow senior team members to understand project dependencies, integrations, and stakeholder management
• Participate actively in team discussions, learning about quality and productivity improvements as well as industry best practices
• Collaborate in an agile team environment while developing technical and professional skills
  
  

Your Profile

You have strong communication and problem-solving skills, actively participate in agile team environments, contributing to collaborative development efforts and learning from experienced colleagues. You are a curious team player with a willingness to learn, and committed to contributing to project success while continuously developing your technical expertise and understanding of embedded software development processes.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Academic or internship experience in embedded software development
• Basic knowledge of embedded software toolchains (e.g., GCC, Make)
• Willingness to learn debugging and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with the software development cycle through academic projects
• Foundational knowledge of C programming; exposure to Python and Rust is a plus
• Awareness of coding guidelines such as MISRA-C
• Initial exposure to Git for version control (e.g., through academic projects or internships)
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concept
• Eagerness to learn about infrastructure tools like shell scripting and virtual machines
• Fluency in English
